Field Trips with the Kids...

I got a little bored hanging around my parents house all day, so I decided to take the kids out for a little field trip of our own to Thanksgiving Point in Lehi, Utah. It's a great little place for people of all ages with a Natural History Museum with dinosaurs and fossil exhibits, a farm square with a petting zoo and pony rides, places to shop and eat and a Glass blowing and stained-window shop.




These animals were so huge, it's almost hard to believe these creatures roamed the earth at one time.
The kids had a great time looking at all the exhibits of the dinosaur bones and fossils, especially when they had a chance to pretend to excavate their own dinosaur bones.



The kids had a great time at the farm Square and especially on the pony ride. Ben was so excited to ride the horse, and was disappointed at first when it didn't start moving when he wanted (we were still waiting for other people to get on their ponies) and he yelled out, "Mom, my horse is broken, he's not moving!"



After we saw the animals, I wanted to see the glass blowing and stained window shop, but the glass blowing shop was taking a break,so we walked through the stained-glass window shop and saw some of the windows they were making for the Rexburg, Idaho Temple for our church...pretty neat.


This is another window they were working on for someones bathroom! It will have over 3,000 pieces, and they said it costs about $20,000. I sure could use $20,000 and use it in more useful places other than my bathroom, but it looks like it will be beautiful.
