Happy Pre-Birthday John and a Visit From Papa Petrini

So John's birthday is not until the 25th of this month, but since he is so busy pretty much all the time, and on his actual birthday, I am totally unavailable, it won't be much of a birthday then. With John's Dad in town for the weekend, we decided to surprise John and take him up to Baltimore to Medieval Times. It's a great place to have dinner and watch a live show of knights dueling, sword fights, and real jousting on exceptionally talented horses.

The place sat at least 500 people, maybe more, and they split you up into cheering crowds where you cheer your own knight on to the end. And our knight won the tournament which made it ever more fun. The kids had a great time because they could actually be themselves. I mean what other restaurant lets you eat with just your hands and scream and shout all you want to cheer your knight on? Bella especially loved cheering and clapping through the whole thing, but I think Ben was confused at first and kept telling me to be quiet.

Afterwards, the night was still young, so we headed back to D.C. and made a quick trip to the Lincoln memorial and the Washington Monument, but since it was so dark, my camera took lousy pictures, so I don't have much to share from that night.

John's Dad came into town to put on a Seminar for John's Prosthodontic Department. It was so great to have Papa out and we hope to have you out again sometime...bring the rest of the family next time okay!
